I am looking to buy this mobo GA-Z97M-D3H, because I heard that the z97 chipset has the best perfomance. I now have b85 chipset and I have i5 4690k, so I am going on an small upgrade on z97. I really want a mobo that I can somehow plug to it, the new generation of SSD (not SATA iii) to achieve speeds more than 500 KB/S ..

I want to know if this mobo can take this SSD somehow - (SAMSUNG 960 PRO NVME) http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/ssd960.html.

No unfortunately, you can't you have no m.2 slot but you can buy a SATA SSD.

Are you sure that I cannot take an adapter and plug this ssd to a PCIe 3.0 slot? I already have 2 SATA III ssds .. !!! I want the next level of speed !!!

Yes you can buy an adapter to make it run over PCIe that would work well

I am really confused with the new SSD's and I am really curious to check how much more fast they can be from SSDs SATA iii. So here is my question:

So can I combine the following:

MOBO: GA-Z97M-D3H
ADAPTER: Controller PCIe DeLOCK 89370 PCIe x4 > 1x M.2 NGFF
SSD: Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 250GB
