Is it worth me buying a FHD Monitor for 1080p resolution?

I currently have a Dell SE198WFP, here are the specs: http://www.dell.com/ed/business/p/dell-se198wfp/pd

I'm not a hard core gamer but like to dabble. I just installed a new RX480 Graphics Card, so I'm wondering if I would see much improvement from purchasing a FHD monitor for 1080p resolution vs. what I have now.

If so, what should I look for in the monitor? Is FreeSync important, since the graphics card supports it?

My current screen is 19" I don't want much more than that for size, since I use my PC for work primarily and use a double monitor setup, so desk space is premium.

Thanks for your advice and support!

Yes, 1920x1080 res gives you more space for work/study (or better picture quality for gaming) than 1440 x 900 res. The RX480 works pretty awesome with 1080p displays when you play video games. And yes, you'll notice the difference depending on what 1080p monitor you buy. If money is not a problem, I would suggest a 1440p monitor instead of the 1080p given that you have the RX480

luisperera89,

Thanks for your help. Another comment on a different thread suggested I stick with 1080p, as the rx480 might struggle with 1440 in high graphics settings on some games.

What other specs should I be looking for in the monitor?

Refresh rate and screen size. You can stick with the 1080p monitor and get a 120Hz or 144Hz monitor if you're planning on playing a lot. If you're not much into gaming then 27" monitor would be good (although the perfect size for me is 24")

You were asking me about FreeSync, it is very good solution for tearing and stuttering, but the price of a FreeSync capable monitor is likely to be above $210 (cheap models) and over $300 for good brands.
