Hello

I was just wondering if it is okay to use a fan splitter on my motherboard so I can plug two fans into one header.

I have tested this and it works fine but I have heard that it can damage the motherboard, and I just wanted to make sure it is definitely safe before using it all the time.

I have a Gigabyte 990X-GAMING SLI motherboard, and the two fans I want to use with the splitter are both Corsair Air AF120's

Thanks

Your 990X can handle many more than 2 fans on a single header before the current begins to get questionable.

And i mean damage... I don't really believe that is how these things work. If the motherboard can't push more than 1 amp to the fans - it won't push more than 1 amp to the fans, even if it is asked to.

Thanks, I thought that it would probably be okay, but it's always good to double check just to be safe.

Also thanks for answering so quickly.
