hello tomshardware, im a console player looking to make the leap from xbox one to PC, and i need a little advice in choosing my first gaming PC. the games that i wanna play will be titanfall 2, fallout 4, borderlands 2, KSP, skyrim, minecraft, and a few other games. Ive found 2 that will suit my needs, both within my budget of $750, but they are different graphics cards-wise.

One has an AMD radeon RX 480, and the other has an Invidia GTX 1060. will there one have a significant advantage over the other? or will it matter at all which one i pick.

for those who might ask for the links to the PCs in question, heres the GTX 1060: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230155R and heres the RX 480: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883102250

Solution
Yeah most games that are out at the moment are a little faster on the 1060, but many newly released games are a little faster on the rx480. Cant really go wrong with either.

I upvote this question.

That's a little pricey for those specs IMO.
If you wish, we could help you build your own PC game, which you will find extremely gratifying.
Other option is, you could buy all pieces and ask for a trusted local PC shop to assemble them for you.

Also, if you have some other sites/place you can buy you can maybe link them for us and we could search some other build that fits your budget as well and may have better components too.

I think i actually would like to build it myself, and im gonna need some help. ive got some friends IRL that could help me out, but if you have anything youd like to tell me first, id really appreciate it.

I'd go for the 1060 one due to the SSD. I'd rather have the 3gb 1060 + SSD rather than a 4gb 480 with no SSD.

As far as building it yourself, it's not hard at all. It's not a good way to save money, in so far as you can't buy components and software in bulk and pay less the way these companies can. But you can pick and choose which components to spend more on, and which to spend less on, and thereby tailor the computer to your exact needs. So I think building your own is better in the long run.

If I'd say anything is that building is actually much easier than you think.
There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube, the Manual that comes with pieces are easy to understad. Basically, all you need is a bit of concentration and everything will fit properly.

Therefore, you will not only gain experience and create a caring bond with your PC, you will also save money :p
