Storage upgrade, PCie SSD compatability

Hello there, and happy new year,

i am due to have an upgrade. I want to add a M.2 ssd, but my mobo doesn't have an M.2 slot. Therefore i am thinking in buying an adapter such as this one (https://www.amazon.co.uk/slots-NGFF-PCI-E-adapter-SATA/dp/B01MXHIH5Z/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1484168019&sr=8-2&keywords=pcie+to+m.2+for+ssd+adapter) and the add the ssd onto it. My question is wheter my mobo is compatible with this setup. I have this mobo (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3912#sp) and i am running sli. Do the PCie x1 slots do the job for me?

Thanks in advance for all he answers.

Waste of money. A fast SATA SSD like a Samsung 850 EVO is just as fast if not faster and significantly cheaper.
