I just build a pc and used the NZXT H440 and the MSI z170a Carbon.
In the fan control of te bios I can see the RPM of the CPU fan and can also control it. For the system case built in fans I can't see the rpm nor control it.
What's wrong there?

I plugged the Cable from the system fan hub into the sysfan1/2 (also tried 3)

sorry, I'm kind of a noob..

With what exact cable do I connect it to the Molex cable?

(Btw there's a white port with a cable named extension, I don't need this normally right?)

Ah ok thanks, I've already done that.

If i put the case fans into a cpu_fan, will there be a difference when using the fan control? the computer will think that the fans are for a cpu and change it's speed according to the cpu temperature, isn't it?

Yes to both of those. It's fine if they respond to CPU temps though because when that's hot case fans need to go higher too so it is pretty much the same thing. Ideally you'd use them in the sys_fan header but NZXT basically made a mess of that fan hub by having voltage fans with a PWM output cable. You could try all sys_fan headers in case some are smart headers but if not it'll be fine.

Let's take a look on the following scenario:

The cpu is at let's say 40 degrees but the HDD is very hot and the graphics card is also at 100%, it's fans are exhausting hot air, that's not good as the case fans are not pulling out enough warm air.

Should I worry about this?

Nah because there arent many situations where the card or HDD would get hot without the CPU. Thats your engine basically. Plus you can set any fan curve you like. Also case fans dont make much difference to temps anyway. I have the same case and got rid of the hub as it interfered with my water cooler fans but temps were never an issue with it in the cpu header. Put them straight into sys fan ones and bypass the hub if it bothers you.

Ahh ok, will do it like this then for now, thank you!

I'm the future I'll probably exchange the fan hub with another one which works properly, especially for overclocking that'll be better I guess.

Yeah but focus on your cooler mainly for that. And a good quality PSU. They are far more important than chassis fans, but like I say you'll be able to control them fine. I found the system temps only fluctuated by about 2 degrees anyway so the curve works better on the cpu_fan header anyway.

I bought the BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 cooler and the Corsair RM650x 650w PSU, guess that's some good stuff
