Will this CPU bottleneck my GPU and did I struck a good deal?

Solution
It will not bottleneck. It would even make a good pairing with a GTX 970.

Even back in 2011, the IPC seen in Intel CPUs was much higher than that in AMD CPUs. If you're used to anything AMD, that 3.7GHz turbo is going to feel like 5GHz.

Just out of curiosity, what power supply are you planning on using? Is it something stupid cheap? I'm not going to judge, just asking.

I already bought this Seasonic M12II-520 EVO when I purchased my GPU
I also have this Cooler master Silent Pro M700 laying around

Which one is better compatible with my CPU and GPU?
Which one do you recommend?

They're both completely usable quality. I recommend the Seasonic model. It's actually the model that I usually recommend for building on a budget. As for the other model, it's okay quality but the only Cooler Master power supply lineups that have my respect are the V and VS series.

Usually when I see these posts about people getting stuff for cheap, they get a stupidly cheap power supply and then it kills their hardware in just a few months and they're back on the forums yelling at whoever told them everything was going to be okay. I thank you for not being one of these people, it makes our jobs a lot easier.

I'm entirely aware of the Tier List. I also know that it doesn't tell the complete story of any PSU. Although it lists their quality and safety (or lack thereof), it doesn't list specific things for each model.

For example, the Cooler Master V series is Tier 1 and the Corsair RM series is Tier 2. What the tier list won't tell you is that the Corsair model will actually be quieter when put in a case that puts the PSU at the top and forces it to intake the warm air from the rest of the system.

The tier list is good if you need to make a quick reference to check PSU quality, but is no substitute for actually reading through professional PSU reviews.

TBH, most of what is in Tier 4 should be in Tier 5. Tier 5 is just OEMs and rebrands that do not make any acceptable units at all. A lot of Tier 4 is what should be in Tier 5 but isn't because they're made by brands that also make acceptable units.

If you feel this conversation needs to be continued, I would make a new thread so we can discuss it without clogging up OPs thread here.

I don't mind but I see why you would make a new thread out of this.
I indeed did extensive research when I bought my PSU. (even on this site!)
Thank you very much for the help, and you too for confirming, Mjslakeridge!
