Background: All parts are new and I am trying to do a pc build with all new parts.
Issue: With only core components installed along with one monitor the computer will start up beep 5 times then shut down. It will keep repeating this process.
HArdware:
MOBO: Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI rev 1
CPU: Intel i7 7700 with intel heat sink
Ram: DDR4 2400 Teamgroup 16 GB
HDD: WD Black 1 TB 7200

Attemps at fixing: looked on internet and tried all steps ranging from making sure all the connectors are plugged in including the cpu 8 pin connector, reset cmos, tried a different psu that I know is working, took back apart and made sure cpu was in socket with no bent or damaged pins, applied alittle more paste to make up for the gap taking the heat sink off again, booted with no ram install to see if a different error occurs,
only three components can be damaged or not working cpu, ram or mob, please help will respond asap. thank you

Question, how do you know it isn't the motherboard? Because it beeps it shows there is nothing wrong or no shorts with the mobo. Also, just bought new ram and tried it and still nothing. Been researching and it seems that the computer wont even boot to post if the bios doesnt support the cpu. I have a new cpu coming that is support even when the board was first released so it works on all bios versions either way the only thing is the cpu for any future problems for anybody else.
