Hi. Iv recently upgraded my system from a gtx 710 2gb to a gigabyte 1050ti g1 gaming 4gb card. Obviously i never gamed with the previous card so cant compare but having following issues:

* screen tearing and stuttering in games and very slightly in films - nothing major and game destroying but present! Now and then the stutter does have a mad few seconds where you think its gonna crash but doesnt.

* brightness seems a little low, deffo needs adjusting...monitor is at 100% and theres no options to adjust in windows 10 or nvidia control panel.

* gigabyte xtreme gaming app intermittently recognises the card and other times doesnt and only allows restricted options - i.e can set gaming mode but not OC mode.

* performance tab in nvidia control panel - where id assume that i could tweak settings to help screen tearing/ stuttering is missing and seems to be nowhere within windows or nvidia apps to tweak anything about the graphics atall... Its kinda like the cards there, recognised by windows but it is how it is and nothing can be altered!

Iv reinstalled drivers and rechecked they are latest ones.

Rest of system:

Gigabyte 970 gaming MB
Fx 8320
8gb kingston hyperX fury RAM
SSD OS
1TB HDD

On task manager, CPU and memory not overloaded so nothing to do with them in regards to tearing/ stuttering.

Never before used PC for high graphics use. Previously just for software development, browsing etc...

Any help/ thoughts would be appreciated from anyone thats experienced in these kinda issues.

Cheers

1)Using VSYNC helps a lot, also try capping frames on 58(or 59) instead of 60, also check if refresh rates are same for GPU nd monitor.
2)I've been told that monitor cables could cause this problem.
3)Check for any remained drivers from old GPU

I didn't solve my gpu tearing problem but it got better after i did this: Nvidia control panel > Manage 3d settings > maximum pre-rendered frames > set to 1 instead of "use 3d app settings". You might try this as well.

Thanks for replies.

Im going to try the following later and will update with results:

* uninstall gigabyte xtreme gaming app and OC guru.

* uninstall nvidia drivers from add/remove programs including geforce experience etc...

* Reboot pc and reinstall nvidia drivers using the clean install option - install msi afterburner in place of the gigabyte software.

* turn on adaptive sync, and set pre rendered frames to 1.

Il let you know if this changes things.

Any real need for the use of DDU for old driver removal or just as good uninstalling in windows and geforce clean install of new drivers?

Cheers

Just to update.

Have tried all the above and seems to have fixed the issue.

Played infinate warfare to test along with dirt rally on high to ultra and no tearing or stuttering.

Havent tried overlocking card yet so all original settings. Its the g1 gaming one so already slightly overclocked. Dont really see much point.
