Corsair GS700 buzzing and causing HDDs to emit annoying noises

I've put a new system together and used my old Corsair GS700 and the HDDs. In the new system the power supply makes a buzzing noise and causes the drives to make an annoying sire-like noise that's barely hearable. No noise was present in my old rig. I think I have no choice but to buy a new power supply, do I? I dug through Corsair forums and found lots of threads with the same problem. Apparently the GS series is crap.

The most important question is - is the power supply causing any damage to the system or to the drives or just nothing more than noise?

Solution
if the unit is older than three years, and thus out of warranty, I would suggest replacement ASAP.
if the warranty stands send it back for replacement.

Magic 8-ball says try again later.

without knowing what is wrong there is no real way to answer that. that being said, a failing power supply can take the entire system with it.
the PSU is securely screwed in and the noise is not vibration?
sire-like, did you mean siren-like? google coil whine and see if the sound matches what you are hearing?

yep it's secure. Not vibrating.
Yeah I already googled it. Nope not the coil whine. Funny thing none of the annoying noises were present on my old machines with the same drives and PSU
