So I've had my custom built PC for almost 3 years now and I've experienced little to no problems with it until about a month ago. One day the PC didn't make any POST beep noises when I started it up, since then, every so often the pc will just freeze and turn off, sometimes restarting (not restarting all the times). When it happens it normally happens again a short time after, unless I keep the pc off for a while. I've tested this without the graphics card and it actually happened more frequently. I'm not sure if it's the motherboard then or something else, and I don't want to try replace anything only to find out that the component isn't broken.
Thanks in advanced for any help! :)

Specs would be nice.

But from what you are saying i would go with cpu overheating. Pulling the GPU probably then uses the on cpu graphics which warms the processor up even quicker causing the more frequent crash.

I would download something like coretemp and see what you cpu is running at.

I downloaded Prime 95 for a cpu stress test and HWMonitor to watch the temp, didn't shoot over 85C and didn't turn off.

I did while playing some games, the pc crashed on most occasions with cpu temp a little over 70*C, and that's after I set the cpu fan to full speed on the BIOS.

I've no idea why it's so high.
