Graphics card for playing 4k games.

Solution
Unless you like upgrading your gpu frequently, I wouldn't go 4k. The gtx 1080 can barely play triple A titles on ultra at 60fps. The higher your resolution the more frequent the upgrade will have to be as newer games come out. If you want to purchase a graphics card and keep it for 3-5 years, i'd highly recommend staying with 1080p until amd and NVidia catch up wit the 4k hardware.

You can play in 4K on practically any card from 2015-2016, if you're willing to turn the settings down. If you want acceptable 4K gameplay it is true that you need a GTX 1070 or above. There's currently nothing from the red team that is truly capable of good 4K.

That's false, I was using a 290x at 4k. You can have decent 30 FPS in many games like The Witcher 3 without AA (who needs AA at 4k anyway).

A Fury is going to be an option or even a 390x.

The real question is games are you wanting to play at 4k and what setting are you setting to have at those settings, I mean I'm sure you could play say hearthstone @4k in utlra with a GTX 1050 ti (just a guess) so with out that information we can't recommend anything.
