Computer specs: Pavilion p7-1254

AMD Quad-Core 2.2 GHz A6-3620 Accelerated Processor, 8 GB DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 520

Hey guys so I am looking into upgrading one or more components on this old PC of mine. I want to be able to play rocket league. Currently I can play but only on the lowest resolutions and settings. I am thinking that all I really need is a new graphics card, what do you guys think? Also, I am hoping for some recommendations on that card. I only have about $100 to spend on the upgrades (broke). Any ideas?

Yes a new graphics card would help your gaming experience by a good margin, though your processor will then be your weakest link and hold you back in CPU demanding games. But it should be fine for Rocket League. Recommendations for a GPU are:

1.) GTX 1050
2.) RX 460
3.) GTX 750 Ti

Okay so I grabbed GTX 1050 and plugged it into an Amazon search. Apparently there are several kinds. Do I want the Ti SC, the SC or the OC and what is the difference other than price? The OC and the SC are the same price at $119 which I think I could do but not sure.

the 1050ti is more money, if you can afford it, its faster, but being that your processor is kind of slow I wouldn't bother.

In your case I'd get the cheapest one, the other models are overclocked a bit which give it a minimal performance increase, one that which with such a slow processor you'd probably never notice.

Okay well on that note I found a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 Mini that only costs $109 on newegg. Does the same logic apply here as with the cheapest one from Amazon? Also, the mini on Amazon costs way more.. not sure why that is.
