Just bought a gtx 1060 and when I try to install the drivers it says "this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" Someone please help

Solution
The monitor must be connected to the gpu, if its connected to the motherboard it defaults to the integrated graphics of the CPU, hence why the gpu can't be found when trying to install the driver. This is your problem.

Yes im on windows 10. I went to the evga website and tried to download the latest drivers from there

Boot into your motherboard bios, look in 'advanced' if you have to, possibly 'chipset'. You'll be looking to see if your videocard is detected in the pci-express slot. Your bios may have a security setting blocking any changes, which means the motherboard won't 'see' the card. If the bios doesn't detect it then Windows won't.
