I'm living in a house in which my neighbor allows me to access the wifi from his modem. So, no problem. My laptop picks it up fine. The thing is my mobile phone, an iphone 5, must have a much weaker wifi pickup, or a lame antenna, because it's an on-off thing. Never a steady connection. I have to be constantly reconnecting. If I purchased one of those usb powered extender thingies, thinking of one from Ideaworks, would it be picking up the wifi signal from the neighbor and amplifying it in general for my workspace and thus help out the mobile phone, or would it only work for the laptop it's plugged into? I would somehow like to amplify the signal for all my devices in my small house. Anything short of invading the neighbor's space would be fine. Any advice welcome. thx
