Sucks that it turned out this way, but hopefully you didnt spend to much on that 1150 motherboard. It is a decent time to upgrade though. Intel just put out their new CPUs and AMD is right around the corner with theirs as well. Shop around and you may be able to get a good deal on one of the Intel Skylake processors. The new Kabby Lake CPUs cost the same MSRP, but just have a few tweaks and roughly have the same performance.

Can you boot to the bios using just the on board graphics? You might have two bad graphics cards, but if we can get to the bios on the built in graphics, that will give confirmation. It may also tell us that the CPU and integrated GPU could be bad as well.

You said: "Psu works. Checked with one on spare pc". What do you mean by that? Have you tried using another PSU on your system? Maybe your current PSU has gone bad and fried your previous board including the CPU. A 1000W PSU may be enough to handle 2 such big beasts (R290x) but in order to survive for a long time it must really be a very high quality unit and even then the PSU stress should be huge. What's your current PSU? Your 2 GPUs are PSU killers.

Your PSU could be bad. I had a 1000w Enermax PSU kill video cards before. The video card was the first to start showing symptoms, and then it killed it. I thought it was the video so I swapped cards. Turns out it killed them both. Same could be happening to you but there's a chance that it just isn't outputting the right voltage. Try another PSU.

I tried my 600w diablo from my other pc. Its doing the same thing. Spins lights up. Shuts off, or reboots a few times, the hdd clicks, reboots. Never gets past that.

Did you clear the CMOS? Instructions for your motherboard should be in the manual. If you already did, you may have a bad CPU at this point.

PSU sounds like it is fine if it works in another machine.

If you have a different machine to test out the individual components, great. Try that with the video cards one at a time. The CPU though may be a bit harder to verify this way though. You already got a new motherboard, so that helps narrow it farther to the CPU.

Yeah. Im doing that now. I havent had any luck with anything. Just the same results. I think its the cpu at this point. A broken psu usually gives less action that i am currently recieving from either of them.

Seems like it was the cpu. The old i5 2500 seems to have no problem booting with the good 290x and the psus i have.
Makes sense, since the new socket 1150 gigabyte mobo couldnt post as well as the old asus mobo.

I overwork my cpus with 3dsmax and adobe premier. I guess it was time to upgrade anyways, as i had to go to the bargain section to find a 1150 mobo.
