Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong category, I'm a little unsure where to put it.

I'm about to buy a 6800k from eBay. It's from the US and I'm in the U.K. so normally that would put me off due to import charges. However, on this listing, there's no mention of import charges, and I spoke to the guy, who said it would be sent as a gift so there would be no charges. What I want to know is:
Will I have to pay charges when I receive It, or do I just have to pay the $10 shipping?
Thanks

you'll get a letter from customs and excise telling you that you have a fee to pay, once paid they release the parcel.

We ordered a 'free' poster, the poster assigned a low value to it on shipping ($20 maybe), we got hit with about £15 of taxes.

Looks like 20% for the VAT https://www.dutycalculator.com/dc/145168941/computers-office/components-peripherals/computer-cpu/import-duty-rate-for-importing-cpu-us-to-uk-from-united-states-to-united-kingdom-is-0/

So if they decided it wasn't a gift, how much would I have to pay? And how would I go about doing it?

Thanks, I've calculated it and it will be around £70.
