Laptop must have thunderbolt 3 connection, which his laptop does not have (It is used only in highest-level laptops).
A CPU is one out of 2 limiting factors, so games wouldn't work anyway.
And no, it wouldn't be cheaper. For ~800 dollars you can get a Quad-core i7 and GTX 1050 in a laptop. Now let's add a monitor's price, a GPU dock, another GPU and a new laptop since current CPU will bottleneck everything which leads to 2x or 3x more than 800$ :)
