Asus P5Q Pro wont turn on

hi there,

My motherboard wont power on.
It is a Asus P5Q Pro motherboard.

When i want turn on my board, cpu fan dont spin, but the PSU light on the board lights is on.

I have also plugged a (ventilator with only usb) plugged in on the back off the board and the ventilator goes on:ouch: So the motherboard seems to be working ;)

what i tried:

plugged the cmos battery 5min out.
ClearRTC jumper move 2 seconds
Ram replace
short powerswitch pins with a scredriver (also NO response)


Nothing seems to work.

Yes i tried 3 differend power supplies ..no effect

btw i plugged a 4-pins connector cpu on the board, can it be that this must be a 8-pin connector?

The socket was covered and i saw no bent cpu pins.

but i can check sure for that:)

UPDATE: Today my 4-pin to 8-pin adapter was arrived, connected, but it wont ONLY START WITH A PAPERCLIP in de 24pins connector. (black and green wire)
and i have screen!

but i think that the f-panel connector on the board is broken or dead ??
