Relative low FPS while recording League of Legends

Hello community!

I'm currently trying to record my games (I play League of Legends). I can record with high quality with Game DVR (xbox app from Windows 10), but it's a limited app. I can't record desktop or add webcam, etc.

I tried with OBS and OBSS, but I just can't find the correct settings (if any) to record with 60 fps, without lag and without any drops.

The other thing that is happening to me is that when I watch a replay (with the replay feature in the new beta client), I start with 144 FPS (capped) but it progressively drops to below 40 (not even recording it). I think is an issue with the client, not with my pc, but I know for a fact that it doesn't happen to everybody.

So... this is my pc

AMD FX-6300 VISHERA
RADEON R7 260X 2GB DDR
ASROCK 960GM-VGS3 FX
SEAGATE PIPELINE HD 2 1TB
KINGSTON FURY HYPERX DDR3 8GB 1600MHz

Is it bad?
I have a chance to buy an "upgrade" kit (so it's called). I will be something like:
Amd Fx 8370
Gigabyte 970-gaming
16gb ddr3 1866

Is that actually a good idea?
Or maybe I just need to upgrade my 6300?

Thanks beforehand!

I would recommend going for an elgato or a Razer Ripsaw, as these are external recording devices and shouldn't affect your game's FPS as much. Also, try not to stream live, as the upload speed will not only lag your game behind for viewers, but will bring down FPS even more.

I could be wrong as I'm new to recording, but you (well I) never know!
I would not spend money on that upgrade kit. If you were to upgrade your CPU, motherboard, and RAM; by all means get a something new. AMD's FX series is old and slow. Either get Intel Skylake or Kaby Lake, or wait for AMD's Ryzen CPUs.

With that being said, I've been recording with Nvidia's (previously ShadowPlay) GeForce Experience 'Share' feature, which works great with little to no performance drop. You can change the quality of the record to whichever bitrate you want for better quality/performance. You can also record your desktop.

The share/recording feature only works on GTX 650 or higher models, but you would want to get a new GTX 10 series card to upgrade from your 260X.

Now, I've recorded whole matches with this, and I too start out at 300fps+, and then slowly drop down to 100fps+. You may want to upgrade your CPU/Mobo/RAM if you drop below 60fps, but the Nvidia GPU will be great for recording either way.

Thanks!

The thing is that the gtx 10 series es super expensive (highest end), and I don't have that kind of money. That's why I was looking for and upgrade kit. Besides, I live in a third world country and everything here is way more expensive than USA or whatever.

Beyond all that, I figure that I should might record with no much more gear that what I have. I may be wrong, of course, but I don't have a toaster... that bugs me a lot.

Thanks again!

The latest LoL update gives you an option to download your game after it is over. I haven't tried it yet but you might have some success with that rather than using the Xbox app. Also, I agree with MrNiceGuy. I have always liked NVIDIA's Shadowplay feature on GeForce.

League have the option to download the replay but just for re-watching it in the client. It's not in a video format. It's like recording it with OP.GG or the old LoLRecorder. It's not what I want.

The thing with what MrN1ce9uy said is that I don't think is worth to upgrade my gpu "a little bit" just to use a recording software. I really don't have money to spare.

Thanks!

I used to use HD PVR by Hauppauge to record on my Xbox 360. As far just screen capturing software, I would say keep doing trial and error until you find a free one you like.
