Hi,

I have a problem with playing Assassin's Creed 2.

My PC:
GTX 1070 G1 Gaming OC
i7 6700
16GB DDR4 2400mhz

I can't run this game with 60fps continously because it stands on 59fps, and always drops the it to 58-57-55. Not a big drop but the game is not enjoayable. I can't understand why, with this specs. The AC 1 was running locked to 144FPS (144hz monitor) with V-sync without any single stutter.

The game is original from Uplay. I play in 1440p, but the game do this if I switch it to 1280x1024 too. I tried V-sync, MSAA, FXAA, turn on and off, and variate them, but didn't help. Tried D3D triple buffering, tried lock the FPS to 60 with RTTS, but still awful. (I haven't got G-sync in my monitor)

I can run the newest games like Mafia 3, Witcher 3 or Rise of Tomb Raider in 1440p Ultra/High with V-sync 75-85 FPS perfectly, so the system doesn't have any problem.

I am waiting for some tips. Thanks!

5 fps drop is definitely not that low. but i guess to each their own... it's from 2009 so i doesnt surprise me at all. the game was obviously a console port from a generation when trying to optimize ports to the PC wasn't really stressed about as much. it wasn't as easy those days when PS/Xbox architecture differed from PC quite a bit.

Thanks. I understoond there is a totally unnecesarry FPS cap in the game at 59/60 FPS, but why drops this low FPS? This game should have 120-140 FPS, and it impossible to keep the 59 fix?

Maybe a monitor with G-sync would help?

Of course, naturally I never thought to buy one, I just asked it theoretically.
