So I have one monitor connected to my graphics card, and then on my motherboard there is a vga adapter and so i got an old monitor out so i could just have to monitors for extra space, and when I connected the vga cable in with the monitor it doesn't recognize it nor does it show my desktop, how can I fix this?

Not sure what card you have, but I have both monitors plugged into the card.

If your motherboard supports you using the onboard graphics and video card at the same time, you still have to turn this feature on in the BIOS as it will be off by default. It might be called iGPU Multi Monitor or similar. Tell us your board and we'll look it up for you.
