any one knows how will intel answer the new amd ryzen. new chips?? lower prices??im stuck without computer - should i buy now or wait - i really dont like to wait.

Solution
Since Intel dominates the CPU OEM market and their CPUs are still favored by most people building their own desktops, Intel does not really need to do anything at the moment. If the CPU performance is better than expected, then maybe... maybe Intel will drop the MSRP for all desktop CPUs by $5. But that is unlikely.

Coffee Lake is expected to be released in the 1st half of 2018 (unless there are delays). It is rumored to bring 6 core Intel CPUs to the "mainstream" and will be based on the Kaby Lake CPUs, not the upcoming Connonlake CPUs later this year. Will these new 6 core "mainstream" CPU be more expensive than 6 / 8 core Zen CPU? I would be surprised if they will not be more expensive.
They likely wont respond at all.
Unless Rysen performs above expectations intel wont be pressured to make any pricing changed. Any speculation on response is based on speculation of AMD, so nothing can really be said until we have solid, real world reviews of Rysen.

If you cant wait, build now. It is highly unlikely Rysen would make you regret anything.

my question is : is their possibility of new technology - aka: new chip from intel that is not in the current line of manufacturing. the 8 core mainstream will be only in end or middle of 2018. maybe intel will lower their 7900k - if their is competition - but for that i wont wait and ill buy now.
