Monitors only display part of the time (new gpu)

I recently switched from a gtx 650 to a 1060 and added a 4th monitor to the mix, but ever since i have done this, there are time where 1 monitor will just cut out and my computer wont detect it anymore. and times where i will turn on my computer and detect only 2 of the 4. Or times were it will detect all 4. I will also have times were all four will be running and i will get a black screen flash, and 1 might disconnect.
Any help would be much appreciated.

yes they are current. installed and reinstalled 3 times already.
my connections are
dvi-d to dvi-d
hdmi to hdmi
vga to display
vga to display
all separate cables

also, when i switch on the the vga -> display to hdmi -> display, all monitors come up. even the other vga to display that was not detected previously

the only reason i do not keep it like this, is because the picture though the hdmi port on my monitors are terrible, while the vga is a lot better

It would be better to connect them all via the same system, either a hub or a DP chain.

Do all the monitors have DP or at least HDMI compatibility?

You have a few options if they do.
1. Displayport hub. You can connect all four monitors via a displayport hub and 4 displayport cables and any adapters if the monitors will connect via HDMI but not DP.

Another option depending on how many HDMI ports your GPU has is a basic HDMI splitter, this is also assuming your monitors have the capability.

There are also various adapters for vga-HDMI, VGA-DVI etc.


But by far the best case scenario is if all monitors support Displayport. You can simply daisychain all the monitors via displayport to a single connection on your GPU.

I wouldnt like to use anything that wouldnt allow me to use vga port, the hdmi ports produce a terrible white washed quality picture that color adjusting cant finx

If your monitors have the capability to use DP, that is really what you should be using. It surpasses the HDMI 1.4 quality so maybe that would help with that. DVI is also preferred over HDMI or VGA, but Displayport is the best. Whatever monitors you can chain with Displayport you should and then use DVI for any that dont.

2 of my monitors use hdmi or vga. the vga display is noticeably better.

Are they TV's? because that would be the reason. If they lack DVI and DP I am assuming they are tv's and no they won't look good with an hdmi. They also won't look as good as a true monitor.

Trust me I bought a $300 1080p tv and returned it two days later because it looked like crap on my GPU, got a $250 1440p monitor and it was phenomenally better. If you are using tv's it would be worth considering getting some cheap monitors with DP capabilities and daisychaining all the displays.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009408 its a S230HL but with 1 vga 2 hdmi. i cant find the exact monitor anymore.
its a entry level monitor, i looked it up a while ago why the picture was bad with hdmi port but fine with vga, and it was something about acer messing up. but that really isnt the issue at hand.
