Ok, so the link points to the image from my router setup page. It would appear to show that my router will turn off every night a midnight (fri, sat excluded). It worked the first night (wed), but not the following evening. Looks like everything stayed connected until I went back in, dug up the screen and hit apply again. At that point, the desktop I use to access the router disconnected, but everything else on the network stayed connected. I am accessinbg the router through wireless, so maybe I need to make these changes via ethernet cable to make them stick? I can't have my boy lose more college credits because he games with his buddies all night and misses school the next day! Help me, Please

Solution
You should be able to adjust the wireless schedule via wired or wireless connection.

Are you sure that your son does not have the routers's admin name and password?

Does the following link match the manual for your router?

http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R7000/R7000_UM_10Oct13.pdf

And you are using the screens and procedures on Pages 110-111?

Select and apply the days as it seems that you have already done.

What I noted is that it seems to appear that you need to make your choices before you select the "Turn off by wireless signal" check box.

In any case, take a closer look at the procedures - sometime they are a bit trickier than they first appear.

Also take a look at the QoS controls starting on Page 40. You may...

As Ralstons said, if it keeps failing then look into the Qos services of the router you have to govern his ability to access the internet at given times, and days.

I would set aside a reserved IP address or fixed IP assigned to his Desktop system or laptop if he uses a wired or wireless connection.

In fact don`t forget if he is using a laptop you are going to have to input and restrict the Wi-fi Ip address assigned and also the wired connection of the Ethernet port of his system assigned to his computer or laptop.

I would setup a private IP address or use the mac address of both the Wi-fi and the wired Ethernet to lock them down securely for access times and blocking.

thanks, guys, that is my router, thanks for the link to the menu. I redid the process, so hopefully it will stick this time. And yes, ultimately once I do some more research, I will lock down only the devices my kids are using. I just need to get up and running on this thing.
