Hi guys, i have Asrock z170 Extreme 4, buy it to build pc from 0 on skylake, but now kaby lake is released, so i want take 7700k. As i understand, this motherboard support 7700k, but need bios update... My question is, if i could update bios using 7700k, will it boot on 7700k without bios update? Or i need find any skylake, update bios, and then use my kaby lake?

I've never done this on the intel side of things, but I experimented with some AMD chips in motherboards that wouldn't pick them up according to PCPP. Most of them worked.

Be careful when you're updating your BIOS, if power were to go out you might brick your motherboard. Otherwise it's pretty harmless.
