Hello guys,
i tried to update the bios of my motherboard to the newest version i.e. 0501 as found on the asus website here> https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B150I-PRO-GAMING-AURA/HelpDesk_Download/

I started the process from the windows application and it rebooted the pc. When it restarted the ez flash 3 utility comes up telling me: to finish bios update you have to select the same bios file .cap file, please dont shut down and so on. I click ok. THen it gives me 2 options to do this> via storage or via internet. I pressed via internet and i got a message that i have the correct bios and all is ok. WHen i then press ok nothing happens the pc is stuck in this ez flash 3 utiity. If i restart again the same process. It does not boot in the windows but the ez comes up.
I then tried to do it via storage device. So i downloaded the bios and inserted it in a blank usb. I tried with the original file, i tried renaming the file to B5IPGA.CAP and to B5IPGWA.CAP all resulting in a message that the selected file is not a proper BIOS file.
I then cleared the CMOS by short circuiting the pins as shown in page 23 of the manual which can be found here>http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/B150I_PRO_GAMING_AURA/E11158_B150I_PRO_GAMING_AURA_SERIES_UM_WEB.pdf
. After the short circuit a black screen comes up with the info: American megatrends AMIBIOS
reading the model of my motherboard and the bios which reads 0501.
CPU i3 6100
total memory 8gb
and it also detects the 2 hard drives
It then says press F1 to enter setup and recover bios settings which starts the same previous Loop with the ez flash 3 utility.

Lastly, keep in mind that i CANNOT enter the normal bios by pressing del or F2. I am automatically directed into the ez flash 3 utility.

Any ideas boys?
Best wishes
Pan

Thank you for this option Sir. I didnt know about that. I found one on ebay. The question now is how is this done? is it like a pin which i undo from the motherboard and i stick on the new one?
Could you provide me some help?

i had the same problem, i updated my bios from the ai suite 3 and it kept sending me to the ez flash utility, i kept on clicking the right file and it would not work, it just kept on repeating it self. luckly i saved the bios udate on a flash drive and i just flashed the updated bios from the usb drive, hope that helps.....

my problem is that i just got a 7700k and the temps are way to high for gaming around 80+c with a cryorig c7, and of course im not over clock casue you cant on a b150 chipset , so i went in to the bios to change the vcore lower , but it wont let me,
