why does ddr3 NOT work in a motherboard that is ddr3 compatible?

motherboard said it had ddr3 compatibilty but what does that mean? ddr3 does not fit in it.

Which motherboard? If you mean Asus H110M-K, then that is not compatible with DDR3, but requires DDR4. There's also the Asus H110M-K D3, which does work with DDR3.

ok thanks, i understood it said ddr4 in the title but the description was misleading. ddr4 is faster than ddr3 anyway correct?
