So i bought an ethernet switch and i ran a ethernet cable from one end of my house to the other. The cat 5e cable tested fine and works when i go straight from my router to my pc. But when i plug the cable from the router to the Ethernet switch, and then to either my PC or games consoles, no device can pickup a valid ip address.
