Just a quick question if someone could help me out. I built my computer 2 years ago with just one 500gb ssd. I have almost filled it completely up so I want to get a second 1tb ssd. Is all I have to do is plug it in and I am good to go, and my operating system and everything else will stay on the ssd that was already in my computer?

Also if it on retail sites it says the ssd is for laptops, I can still use it for my desktop correct?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Yes and Yes.

Just make sure you format the new SSD drive before using it with windows running on the existing SSD based drive you have.
Choose to format the new SSD drive if of 1 Tb size either with a Ntfs format, or a GPT format.

As the drive will not show in my computer, or windows file explorer untill you do Omnirowdy.
