Just what it sounds like. I've done EVERYTHING right. I've flashed multiple BIOS in my life, but never on an ASROCK. I formatted the USB to FAT32, I tried reformatting it as a Boot device, but no matter what the Flash utility says "No Image File Detected." When I try to run it from an MSDOS boot device it refuses to open the flash utility. I'm basically asking if there are advanced reasons why this would happen? I have to do it this way because the MOBO won't recognize my SanDisk SSD. I mean, it knows that it is plugged in, it knows it's a SanDisk drive, but after Post I just get a black screen with a blinking keyboard cursor.

Oh and my RAM/Chipset are fine. I can mess around in BIOS all day, no problem. I just can't get into Windows (and the SSD works just fine with my ASUS 970 Aura/AMD (in my signature).

So your line of thinking is, that if you update the bios firmware of the motherboard it will somehow fix the problem of the Sandisk SSD not being detected when connected to the system.

Do you have any sort of CSM mode option in your bios of the motherboard ?
If you do,set the hardware detection and booting mode of the motherboard to Legacy op rom / Uefi.

Why because the sandisk SSD drive may only be Legacy compliant.
And if Uefi mode is selected it is why the Sandisk SSD is not showing.
