Hello! I've been having issues with my keyboard and mouse for two days now.
computer specs:
Gateway PC
Windows 7 Ultimate
Intel core i3 processor 3.30 GHz
About 8600 GB of Memory
So here's the story. I was having problems with windows. The windows is not genuine problem. I found a solution for that online that involved the cmd and giving it a prompt. I don't exactly remember the prompt. But it involved the word REARM. Basically, it worked and I was really happy. Next, I installed an Intel Graphics HD Driver that fit in with my graphics card. I have an intel sandybridge/ivybridge graphics card. I don't know the specifics. Everything was smooth sailing from there. I downloaded some free games too. I also downloaded BitTorrent. Before, I had uTorrent, but I uninstalled it since I had heard bad things about it.
Everything was working fine until yesterday. I was gonna show my friend something on the internet and lo and behold, we couldn't type anything! Pressing certain keys would send us to browser history, adding bookmarks, looking at the source code of a website. Definitely things we didn't wanna do. I also noticed my mouse won't unselect things if I click outside it. If I want to drag and drop something it just copies it instead. I restarted the computer and it seemed to work. However, today it's the same thing as yesterday. It won't work! I've tried uninstalling some of the aforementioned programs, but no luck. I've tried shutting down my computer and disconnecting the keyboard and then turning on the pc again while also simultaneously plugging in the keyboard. Both my keyboard and mouse are Ps2.
Please, urgent help needed! Any help is vastly appreciated. Thank you!
