Hello!

I have a little problem... When gaming i get black screen after a while and my cpu and gpu performence drop by 50%, sometimes more.
I have dust cleaned everything, made sure everything is in place, temperatures are normal, drivers ect are up to date (even tried older driver).
I am using MSI Afterbruner and it does it both when I OC and dont OC.
When i restart the PC all is good, i run my benchmark program and that runs fine too. A short while after gaming i get the perfomence drop.

Historical info: Started having small problem in games. Black screen for a short while, but no performence loss.
Problems when watching media online. Black sreen for 1-5 sec then media player reports error. I refresh the site and it runs again no problem, until it happens again. I usually got the message that chrome was blocked from using graphics.
Update: No problems when watching media now

Update: Sometimes the perfomence drop occurs even without the black screen. I go out of a game and into a new (or the same) and the perfomence drops already in the menu, not even in game.

Win 10 pro
i5-2500 CPU 3.3GHz
msi gtx560 ti twin frozr ii
8 GB RAM

Stats of benchmark when pc is normal:

Graphics: 880Mhz
Memory: 2100Mhz
Processor: 1760MHz
GPU usage: 68-99%
CPU usage: 30-67%

Stats of benchmark after short black screen or in and out of games:

Graphics: 50Mhz
Memory: 135Mhz
Processor: 101MHz
GPU usage: 97-99%
CPU usage: 50-80%

Note, these are the lowest values, at first the values are 50% of normal, then this.

Have you checked the temperature of the components right before the crash? You could use MSI afterburner to look at temps.

Have you checked their usage while gaming and not after the black screen? Does it go above 90%?

I Suggest you run some other high-end stuff like 4K Editing/Rendering with both CPU And GPU Cores and check if the black screen appears. By this, you shall find which one, either CPU or GPU that is causing the problem. This seems like the drivers crash whilst the time of black screen. Make sure you've installed the correct drivers.

All is fine before the black screen and performance drop. The black screen only lasts a little while, then the game is back up.
All right, i try and run that ;)

This seems like the drivers crash whilst the time of black screen. Make sure you've installed the correct drivers, no matter how many times you've installed it. Do you overclock using the MSI Afterburner to the max point?

It is not your problem on hardward, it is software problem. This problem occured when user installed registry cleaner such as CCleaner or others brand. Try format back your PC and installed windows again but this time dont install any registry tuning. Please report it back here if successful.

1. Dont update windows. Disable it permanently.
2. Install Nvida Geforce experience
3. Install Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 or 2017.
4. Install Nvidia Cuda & psyhic
5. Then install MSI afterburner

Play game like usual.
Enjoy!

All drivers are updated as well as windows. I dont overclock it to the max, i am afraid of pushing it to hard in this state.

I ran a benchmark after perfomence drop while in game, here are the stats.

Graphics: 50 MHz
Memory: 135 MHz
Processor: 101 MHz
GPU running at 97-100%
CPU running at 50-80%
Temperature on both 30-40 degrees

I installed DDU graphics uninstaller, but this was after the problem occured. I havent installed any other registry cleaner programs.
I will try to format if i still cant repair this problem and report back to you.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Roliere : "GPU and CPU underformence. No crashes, no blackscreen.Only while gaming."

Hello!

I have a little problem... When gaming i used to get black screen after a while and my cpu and gpu performence drop by 50%, sometimes more. Now it happens when i close a game and open it or a new one again.
I have dust cleaned everything, made sure everything is in place, temperatures are normal, drivers ect are up to date (even tried older driver).
I am using MSI Afterbruner and it does it both when I OC and dont OC. I have stopped OC while having this problem.
When i restart the PC all is good, i run my benchmark program and that runs fine too.

Historical info:

-Started having small problems in games. Black screen for a short while, but no performence loss.
Black screen got worse and longer, huge perfomence drop afterwards.

-Problems when watching media online. Black screen for 1-5 sec then media player reports error. I refresh the site and it runs again no problem, until it happens again. I usually got the message that chrome was blocked from using graphics.

-Formated my PC and dust cleaned it. (Also i cleaned insinde GPU and CPU, applaying thermal paste afterwards)

Update: No problems when watching media now.

Update: Sometimes the perfomence drop occurs even without the black screen. I close a game and open a new (or the same) and the perfomence drops already in the menu, not even in game.

Update: Played Total War for 3 hours without any perfomence drop or crash (longest time yet). But then when i close and go in a new game, i get instant performance loss.

Win 10 pro
i5-2500 CPU 3.3GHz
msi gtx560 ti twin frozr ii
8 GB RAM

Stats of benchmark when pc is normal:

Graphics: 880Mhz
Memory: 2100Mhz
Processor: 1760MHz
GPU usage: 60-97%
CPU usage: 30-67%

Stats of benchmark after short black screen or in and out of games:

Graphics: 50Mhz
Memory: 135Mhz
Processor: 101MHz
GPU usage: 97-99%
CPU usage: 50-80%

Note, these are the lowest values, at first the values are 50% of normal, then this.
Sometimes i get the lowest values right away...
