I just got some components from Newegg, the Z270 M5 gaming msi motherboard and i7-7700 kaby lake cpu, some new ram and a new case
I mounted the mobo, put the cpu in, went through this and that, and I get no power at all to the motherboard, no led lights or anything. I tried hooking and unhooking components one by one. I am certain the psu is fine because I tested it on another system. The case power switch is fine also. I removed both sticks of ram and tested them separately alone in the proper slot and still nothing.
Newegg has made me an RMA for the motherboard itself, but I am concerned that it could also be the CPU which is the issue. I removed the CMOS battery for 20 seconds and also tried that, I have no jumper cap or whatever it's called to try that troubleshooting technique.
Any advice would be appreciated, I have worked my butt off trying to figure out what the problem is, I would really hate to get an RMA'd motherboard and find out it doesn't work either because of something I'm doing wrong
