Just finally got my new rig up and running. I have a new 960 Evo 500gb for the boot drive. I'd like to plug my old SSD boot drive in and wipe it and then use it as storage, maybe for new games. How should I proceed?

Thanks.

Hook it up to another port. Boot and once in windows right click on the drive in "This PC"(Win10) or My Computer (Win7) and select format. I'd recommend default setting except the name. Also Quick Format should probably be used to avoid unnecessary writes to the SSD.

I add the icon to my desktop so its easy to get to. Same as I did in every other Windows version. I don't remember how I found it originally, but I searched for Desktop Icons in the settings and finds it and opens it in a new window.

Also, for future reference, if you ever want to wipe your Samsung drive, I think you can use the Samsung magician software to do that and a lot more if you haven't already installed it.

Formatting via Windows will suffice since your re-using it. If giving/selling it to someone else, Samsung Magician does have a secure erase functionality. It creates a bootable Flash drive or CD/DVD that you boot from. It may not be brand limited. But that's only if its leaving your possession.
