I have tried to solve it myself, but I just can't anymore and it's been bugging me for almost 2 months.

The Build:

  • CPU: FX-8320E
    MOBO: Asus M5A99FX Pro r2.0
    RAM: 4pcs 8GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX 1866 CL10
    GPU: Sapphire RX480 Nitro OC
    PSU: Corsair RM1000x

The Problem:
It freezes randomly with a constant buzzing sound (silent if it there's no audio before the freeze). Sometimes it lasts 2-4 days without a freeze, and sometimes only 1-10minutes before freezing again. It freezes even at startup, in the BIOS, in-game, at one point during a Windows format, and basically anywhere.

Things that happened:

  • It mostly freezes as mentioned above
Twice, it froze and the screen went blank red
Five times, it just turned off and restarted
And once it just turned off
Sometimes after a crash, it displays American Megatrends with "overclocking failed"

Things I have tried:

  • Monitored temps with HWMonitor and SpeedFan and nothing's overheating
Reformatted multiple times when I though it was software
    Bought a new PSU (RM1000x)
Tried a different RAM stick (a single 4GB Crucial 1333MHz)
Tried a different graphics card (GT 730)
Downgraded and upgraded every BIOS versions
Tried lowering the power plan cpu to 80% min and max
I tried playing around manual frequency inputs and DOCP profiles as well as turning off turbo core but havent played around with manual timings and voltages since I dont know how and I might cause more damage (Sometimes after a freeze, I check the Ai Tuner tab in the BIOS and see that the board underclocked the ram to 1115mhz (I think?) and changed some other settings but still didnt help and still led to freezing)

All those but to no avail.

Notes that might help:

  • The GPU is brand new and was tried on a different PC before and it has no problems
I have tried overclocking once months ago with the graphics card using TRIXX but resetted it (also reformatted many times after that), never overclocked since
I think the problem started occuring when I put the new RAM but not sure

It has been really really frustrating and I'm tired of endlessly forum crawling. Please help.

Already did. I once did it for 2 days with 4 passes.
Also, as mentioned, I already tested a different 4GB Crucial Memory from my friend and it still froze.

I really have no option left but to ask for help.

That CPU isnt listed on the ASUS site as a supported CPU. So I would say it's not compatible

Unless you mean the 8370E

The only 8320/8330/ 8350 / 8370 CPU's listed are

FX-8300(FD8300WMW8KHK,3.2GHz,8C,95W,rev.C0,AM3+) ALL 1006

FX-8310(FD8310WMW8KHK, 3.4GHz, 8C, 95W, rev.C0, AM3+) ALL 2501

FX-8320(FD8320FRW8KHK,3.5GHz,8C,125W,rev.C0,AM3+) ALL 1006

FX-8320E (FD832EWMW8KHK, 3.2GHz, 8C, 95W,rev.C0,AM3+) ALL 2501

FX-8350(FD8350FRW8KHK,4.0GHz,8C,125W,rev.C0,AM3+) ALL 1006

FX-8370(FD8370FRW8KHK, 4.0GHz, 8C, L3:8M, 125W, rev.C0, AM3+) ALL 2501

FX-8370E (FD837EWMW8KHK, 3.3GHz, 8C, L3:8M, 95W, rev.C0, AM3+) ALL 2501

Already did. I upgraded to 2501, still freezing.
I've actually flashbacked to every version of the BIOS available and still froze. I'm now back at 2501...

No beeps. The freeze seems completely random.
Just yesterday I played GTA V for 4 hours, left the PC on overnight, woke-up to it without a freeze.
8 hours later, it starts freezing again.

Turned it off. Left it for 1 hour, turned it on, and it froze while at the BIOS.
