Hey guys,
I am about to buy Asrock H170 Pro4/Hyper to overclock my i5 6500 with BCLK is it worth it ? Is the OC blocked in latest BIOS in any way ?

Cheers

The Hyper series motherboards are designed to overclock by using an external bclk generator and don't require a special Bios. You can easily overclock the locked processors to the same levels as the unlocked versions, but you will need to use faster RAM as it is overclocked as well. How much benefit from it will be hard to tell since it really depends on what you're doing and the games you play. More CPU intensive games can get a substantial bump in FPS when you overclock the CPU. Don't forget a good cooler such as Cryorig H7 or similar.

I think it's not worthy why ??? because the performance you get from BCLK is not a huge bump even it's increasing performance a bit.
so my suggestion is save more money to buy Z170 or Z270 then upgrade your CPU to "K" version next.
and maybe ASRock z270 extreme 4 is great price / performance mobo.
