We couldn't create a new partition Error

I'm currently trying to install windows 10 to my hard drive which is 500gb. When i select my install location to my hard drive, it says "We couldn't create a new partition". What should I do??

Hey there, @mandemz!

It would be really helpful to us if you share more details about whether this is an internal or an external drive. Just like @1LiquidPC asked, it would be useful to where if you have initialized the HDD first, before you attempt to partition & format it. Sharing some screenshots of your Disk Management in Windows and the error that you get could really assist with the troubleshooting. (e.g. Upload via Imgur and share links)

If the HDD is external, you could also try executing these procedures on a different computer (PC/laptop) and see if you will be able to properly format & partition the hard drive from there.
