Hi guys, as title says i m stuck between these 2 cards.

Asus GTX 1080 Strix - STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING
or
GEFORCE® MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G

I'm planning to play at 1440p (2560x1440).
And second question - does my cpu (I5-4670k @4,1Ghz) will be enough for gtx 1080 ?
Thanks

You will probably get moderate bottleneck with that CPU in more demanding games.

As for the cards, they are both similar, have fitted backplates and similar clocks, but the bASUS is huge so check you can fit it in your case. The Gaming X is a factory OC'd GPU but the 8G ASUS isn't. The 08G is the OC'd Strix.

I have around 310mm of free space for graphic card so they will fit :p
I just have offer to buy one of the cards for same price so thats why i dont know which one i should choose ;p

If it's the OC Strix, get that. If it's not, get the Gaming X. That's my opinion.

Honestly they are very, very similar and it could come down to something like which one you prefer the look of. The ASUS have 2 HDMI/2 DP and the MSI 1 HDMI/3 DP. Both have plenty of cooling for any non-custom VBIOS overclocking and almost identical power draws and memory clocks.

I also agree with Dylster. A 1080 is largely overkill for 1440p, especially with that CPU.

I'm going to buy new CPU (probably I5-6600k for 1151) if my old one will be too weak for 1080 ;p

Your CPU will be weaker at 1080p than it will at 4K as the framerates will be much higher. The framerates at 1440p will be high with a GTX 1080 though.

I'd save money, get a 1070, then get a better 4K card like the upcoming 1080Ti or 2080 in future when you get a 4K monitor but obviously a 1080 is still a very, very good card.
