Will a laptop with 802.11AC only work on older routers?

I'm thinking of getting the 'LENOVO YOGA 910 13.9" 4K 2 in 1' and in the specifications under wifi its only showing WiFi 802.11 ac. Does this mean that this lenovo will only connect to routers broadcasting 5G? I mean if i have an older router broadcasting 802.11 b/g/n, will this not connect?
Thanks :)

The AC standard uses both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and is backward compatible. An AC card will connect to an N router just fine. And vice-versa. Don't use B or G because those don't support WPA2 encryption, which is the only security that should be used.
