Is upgrading my ram worth it?

Solution
Depending of your other specs. If you are using i5 or below, then I can suggest not to upgrade. The 16Gb itself will help but not in the long run. Your cpu will be the main problem since more and more game will rely on more hyper threading, which i5 and below cannot 9 or barely) deliver.

I upgraded my i5-2320 3,5GHz (yes its not a K but motherboard msi z77A-g45 auto overclock it) from 2x4Gb ram into 4x4Gb ram. Alas the games that i played never even touch 8Gb (7,7Gb to be precise). I only used it like 5 months which lead me into upgrade into xeon with lga 2011v3 which forced me change motherboard and new ram.

If you have i7 with sandy bridge or above, then I think its still worthwhile with 16Gb ram.

Good luck
