Is the FX-9370 good for 60FPS gaming?

I am looking for a new CPU to game on and I do not want to change the MoBo. I am new to the AMD platform so I am asking if the 9370 is good for gaming. Thanks for replies!

No. If you must stay on the same mobo, then go for an FX 8370 at the most.

The FX-9370 and 9590 are power suckers beyond belief. They produce far more heat and energy than they do speed. Easily two of the worst CPUs in history.

Plus, your motherboard probably doesn't support them either cause of their insanely high 220W TDP.

its not amazing for gaming. and its not good for the price. do yourself a favor: get a new motherboard. don't waste $200 on that CPU

No avoid the FX9370 and 9590 at all costs. I wouldn't use one if you gave it to me for free.

Yeah, your mobo will most certainly NOT support the FX-9370. The max I'd recommend for your mobo is an fx-8370E or FX-8320E.

Yep that motherboard definitely won't support a FX9370 and honestly, it's not even good enough for a 125w FX like the 8350. You should stick with your FX6300 for now until you can afford to upgrade your cpu, motherboard, and RAM all at once. You would benefit more from a video card upgrade. Something like a GTX1050ti or RX470 would be great.

For 60fps gaming (as long as you have a capable GPU) both Ryzen and Kaby Lake will most certainly do fine.

It's really all about your budget. How much are you looking to spend?

Also, which 650w psu do you have exactly? Simply saying "650w" is not enough information.

All I really do is animation(rendering too) and game and program so not really.
