Hey guys can you tell me if I can put a GTX 580 on a H61M-VG3? I read that it supports up to PCI-e 3.0 but last night I opened my PC and next to the current graphics card slot (the only graphics card slot) it said PCI-e 2.0.
And that's why I decided to go with the 580 because I'm paranoid my mobo is weak.

Thanks in advance!

The card will work fine in a Pci-e 2.0 rated board and slot configuration.

In that respect you should have no problems at all plenty of bandwidth to run the GTX 580 card to it`s full potential without fear of it being a bottle neck to the rest of the system.

The Cpu is a Bit more of a question, and that really is down to just a case of testing the system where I guess the intent is so you can play better, or more newer game titles on the system with better frame rates and slightly better graphics details and at higher screen resolutions.

It`s a case of fitting the GTX 580 card. Knowing it will not be the problem.
And possibly thinking of upgrading to an Intel i5 cpu over the I3.

Intel i3 cpus`s as you know, based on model range the lowest of the cpu range Intel produce.
Though you can quiet happily get away with using the cpu for playing games with on your system.

They do offer less Cache on the cpu and will provide less potential bandwidth processing power of data.
That can equate to a bottle neck to other devices connected to your motherboard such as the GTX 580 card.

Many thanks Shaun!

But I'm upgrading the video card because my current one is GT 610 2GB and I'm not very happy with it.

On the other side all I really want to play is a bit simple like: Overwatch, The Forest, GTA V, Garry's Mod, PAYDAY 2 and etc because I love having a variety of games.

And it wasn't really that I'm scared of the slot it's like this paranoia that the MOBO could be weak.
