A friend of mine is asking for a windows suggestion and he's shifting to windows 7 from 8. I have used Windows 7 ultimate and for me it works just fine so thought of bringing it here and know what you people say about Windows 7 editions? Recommendations please, Thanks!

The issues with Windows 8 were mostly fixed in Windows 8.1 & 10. However if he is deadset on W7, then the Ultimate edition is most certainly the best option with the most features, and is the most user friendly. However, Windows 7 is only in extended support until January 14, 2020 though, and hasn't been majorly updated since 2012. I would recommend an upgrade to W8.1 personally, but I understand if your friend does not wish to use them.

That is a waste of a lot of money Home 64 bit is fine for pretty much every user. And you are better off going to 10.

What featured are you looking for exactly? First it's not easy to find an Ultimate license, second, it costs double of the other versions. And you are better off with Windows 10, it's current and if you system runs 8, it will run 10. The interface is not the same as 7 but it's way better than 8.

My friend is looking for an OS that supports rendering softwares fully. He does not find professional or Home version compatible enough with those software, like 3d max 2014, sketch up and grasshoppers. He's an Interior designer.
