Hi guys sorry for the noobish question, was just wondering if anyone knew what wires I have to get to solder onto my LED light strip? I used the bit I had for my desk and connected that to the power supply that came with the kit, but now I want to put it in more areas in my room, I am buying a soldering kit and I have watched a few videos on how to do it, but I don't know what wires/power supply to get to connect to the led. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BP4DUMU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is the strip im using.

Also I would like to maybe connect these all to one controller, I dont know if that's possible or not, any feedback is appreciated.

any help is appreciated :)

I`m not [strike]quiet[/strike] quite with you on what you are asking.

But if you want to extend the Led lighting strip.

You can buy the extra connector blocks that clip on the end of one led strip run to another run or length of led strip you have

You just peel back the rubber type clear sticky coating where you will see the points to power the run of led strips and the clip connects both together for power.

Or you use wire if you want a long break between the strip and solder all of the marked copper contacts showing on the strip from R to R

G to G
B to B

G to G for ground, or 5v -
You will need to buy wire rated to carry the voltage provided to the led strips.
Based on the AWG wire specifications.

Based on the AWG wire specifications.

The Led strips and the way they work is voltage is sent to the Red, Green and Blue led`s of the strip.
Where each voltage is controlled via the white box in the kit.

How much voltage is sent to each of the R, G,B channels determines the color produced by a mix of intensity of rgb.
And brightness, and the RGB led`s set to light up.

Basically without the white box if you connected the R, G,B points on the strip to a 5v DC power supply all you would get is a pure white light Led strip.

I`ve done it myself so I should know lol.
Used it to add Led lighting effects to the external of my Arcade cabinet.
