Should I flash my BIOS?

MSI say I should.

My computer has an ongoing issue with integrated graphics not working recently which I found out was the TV at fault this past weekend, i.e. the computer was working just fine. In between first having the issue and solving it, I contacted MSI who asked for my BIOS and ME version which I gave.

My ME is 9.1.26.1006
And they said it should be 9.1.37.1002 and I should download the latest BIOS from their site and flash it using M Flash. This is something Live Update is meant to do itself

If there's one thing I know about BIOSes is it's you don't flash it if everything's working fine and only do it if something is broken and you have no other choice. Msi's own website says don't flash it if you don't know what you're doing (which I don't really when it comes to a computer BIOS) or if everything is working correctly (which it is).

I'm using an MSI Z97 Gaming 7, i5 4570

So, should I flash it? I'm reluctant to because of you mess up, there goes your PC.

Bonus question, why when Live Update does a BIOS update does the computer reboot (as normal), but then doesn't completely boot and starts again like something went wrong. So it's fans and light on, turn on (I think the board's boot codes appear on the LEDs), shut off, start over and complete boot

your right, if you don't know what your doing , don't flash it.
Besides you did not convey why you NEED to update flash of your bios.

Corporate will always say get latest flash without giving you a reason, I deal with it all day long for work, and when pressed to find out what the latest flash fixes, it has nothing to do with and issue I am having, but the people on the phone line are following a scripted paper, make 8$/hour and are not technicians following their learned methods of troubleshooting.

so again I ask, why do you feel you need to flash your bios, what's the issue with your integrated video card.

The problem was the integrated graphics would work for five minutes and then fail or not work at all. CPU was sometimes giving code 00 with the TV when it was the default graphics option. Splitter was lighting up telling me there's a signal but the TV would show nothing. Tested integrated graphics with another TV and it worked perfectly, auto switching outputs when I moved the cable. Didn't think to test for the 00 code though
