Hello guys so i was looking for a graphics card to upgrade from my dead r9 280. I was thinking to buy a rx 480 (its literally 370$ here) but then i saw that a r9 290x is going for 190$ on a really trusted popular site thats been really used here. The card is with the reference cooling though and its 4 gb. The 1060 6 gb and rx 480 is 370$. I live in turkey btw so there is no other choices to buy from (cant buy from amazon).

Agreed, the R9-290X is an excellent performer and the price, in your country, is good.

They do run hot and you need to make sure your power supply is adequate to power the R9-290X.

What is the make/model of your power supply?

the R9-290x will need better cooling than the reference one, you`ll have to adapt a better cooling for it, it`s still a potent card like the rx 480 or gtx 1060 but it needs better cooling. I moded my 290 with a H80i cooler from 84°C in BF1 i`m down to 55-60°C :)
