So I recently ran into a problem, my system is just eating up RAM and I don't know how to fix it, even without anything open task manager shows I use up 67%, but when I tab to users it says around 250mb

I tested my RAM sticks and downloaded different virusscanners, but it didn't help anything. Hoping someone could help me out

Before you do any of the things below its worth a shot to remove the OS drive from your computer and hook it up to another computer as a secondary drive. Either via USB or SATA. Just make sure that you don't boot from it. The host computer should have up-to-date antivirus and malware software. Then run a full scan on your suspicious disc, using the malware and anti virus software. Also try to look for errors on the drive, using windows scandisk.

If nothing showed up during the aforementioned step then keep the drive in the host PC and back-up your current OS to a separate drive (if you have things on there that you want). If not, then put the drive back into original PC and do fresh windows install.

Also please try the following:

1. Flash motherboard to latest firmware.
2. Ensure that your RAM kit is on your motherboard's list of approved memory, by visiting the manufacturer's support website.
3. Steer clear of "dirty" installation files and beware of the fatal malware in torrents that can slip past anti virus.'

https://snag.gy/MHsCtB.jpg a screenshot of my processes tab, I know chrome sucks alot of RAM but the results weren't that different with chrome closed, noticed a process called Service Host: Local System having some impact but I'm not sure.

Decided to look into resource monitor to get some more values and decided to just take a screenshot as well, look for yourself if anything weird is going on https://snag.gy/9jiHhd.jpg

Something seems off to me about the RAM utilization, looks high considering you have 8 GB installed. You're not running 32-bit Windows are you?
