Overclocked my gpu, is it damaged?

So I tried overclocking my Radeon RX 470 and I pushed the core clock and core voltage too far. I maxed out core voltage and it crashed my PC because of the temps. How do I know if it's damaged or not?

What are you overclocking with? If its just some software like msi afterburner its not going to allow you to push the voltage so far that you could outright damage the card from too much voltage, I dont think the stock bios on that gpu would let you either. It probably crashed because you pushed the clocks too far, that's part of overclocking I highly doubt you could of damaged something.

I overclocked with msi afterburner. And Im not sure but these weird splotches appeared on my desktop after my pc crashed. I've also played games and they look fine, except in Assasin's Creed 3 I think there's this weird artifact that pops up from time to time. Is that just the game or is it my gpu?

If you have now set your card back to stock and you are seeing artifacts like that its not good.

Have the artifacts on the desktop stopped at this point?

If you are only seeing it at 1 spot in 1 specific game I would be less concerned.

It's not like a fixed spot in that game but just sometimes there's glitches in the graphics of it. Here's my windows desktop by the way:

It's probably just heat. Let the whole thing cool off, and reboot into safe mode. Without the overclocks set, if you still have problems like it glitching and artifacting when playing a game and/or running a benchmark, then you've probably broken it. Otherwise, just don't do it again.

It's actually kinda hard to break a GPU just by overclocking, especially when it's with afterburner or trixx or something. I've tried. Now if you wrote a custom bios and told it to do 2V and like 3ghz on the core, then it's a goner.

Looks fine to me, Looks the same as the background on my server (the parts that kind of look like splotches)
