Hello all,

I have a normal hard drive HGST 1TB 7200RPM, 5V 800 mA DC that I tried to install windows 8.1 and always there is a error that Disk cannot be found.

Using Mini tools Partition (using USB) I can only see a image like Disk 2 - Read only.
and the disk never display to me.

Windows manage i can only see a disk like (USB):
Disk 1 Unknown NOT INITIALIZED

The System installed on it is FreeDOS.
It's a brand that came with my laptop.
Can someone please assist me how can I format to finally windows any windows?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there luizcanguini,

The 1 TB HDD is the internal drive, which you want to install OS on right?
How many drives you've got in your system?
How are you trying to install OS? (CD or a flash drive?)

You can reformat the drive once you boot from an OS CD or a flash drive and install the OS on it afterwards.

I believe some screenshots would be of help here.

Cheers.

By DVD, USB or LAN BOOT always stop the installation at the 3º step of any Windows System with the following errors:

error code: 0x8007025D
Windows could not apply unattend settings during pass (offlineServicing)

I have tried in 3 different PCs even connect the HDD in a USB port 3.0 does install the Windows.

I believe this HDD is damaged.
I have also Format it twice as NTFS (full mode).

Please advise if I can have a new hard drive instead this damaged one.
